If you've never received Reiki before, you might be wondering what it actually looks like. The answer is simpler than you might expect, and more profound than you might imagine.

Before the Session

A Reiki session typically begins with a brief conversation. Your practitioner will ask about what's brought you to Reiki, any areas of physical or emotional concern, and what you're hoping to experience. This is not a medical intake. It's an opportunity to be seen and heard before the healing work begins.

During the Session

You remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on a treatment table, or in the case of a distance session, in a comfortable, quiet space of your choosing. There is nothing you need to do. You do not need to concentrate, visualize, or believe anything in particular. Your only job is to receive.

The practitioner channels Reiki energy with intention, working through a series of hand positions that correspond to areas of the body and its energy centers. In an in-person session, hands may rest lightly on or just above the body. In a distance session, the same energy is channeled through intention across space and time. Reiki does not require physical proximity to work.

Sessions typically last between 30 and 60 minutes.

What You Might Feel

Every person's experience of Reiki is unique, and every session can feel different from the last. Common experiences include warmth or tingling in the hands or body, a deep sense of relaxation, emotional release, vivid imagery or colors behind closed eyes, a feeling of heaviness or lightness, and sometimes simply a peaceful, dreamlike state.

Some people feel very little during the session and notice the effects hours or days later. A deeper night's sleep. A quieting of anxious thoughts. A sense that something has shifted without being able to say exactly what.

Some people cry. Some laugh. Some fall asleep. All of it is welcome. All of it is part of the process.

After the Session

It is common to feel deeply relaxed after a Reiki session, sometimes even a little spacey. Drinking water, resting if possible, and being gentle with yourself in the hours that follow supports the integration of the energy work. Some people notice a period of emotional or physical release in the days after a session as the body continues to process and rebalance.

Distance Reiki

All sessions offered through Warho Healing are distance sessions, which means you can receive Reiki from anywhere in the world. Distance is not a limitation in energy work. Reiki flows where it is needed regardless of geography, and many recipients report that distance sessions feel just as powerful, sometimes more so, than in-person work.

If you're curious about what a session might feel like for you, the best way to find out is to experience one. You can book a 30-minute distance session with me at any time through the Warho Healing website.
